CybEx Awarded SMDC Space Enhancements Technology Contract

(Huntsville, AL – April, 17 2018) CybEx, LLC, a joint venture between Quantum Research International, Inc. and PeopleTec, Inc., announced that it was awarded the Space Enablers/Enhancements Technology and Innovation (SETI) effort, a $28M Prime contract win in support of the Army’s Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) Future Warfare Center Concept Development and Integration Division, Training and Doctrine Command, Capabilities Manager for Space and High Altitude Space Prototyping and Experimentation Branch. The effort was awarded under the Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration (D3I) Domain 2 contract vehicle and will support the Army with concepts and prototyping solutions by merging technology innovation and ideas with resources crucial for integration and delivery of technology into Warfighter hands. These products maximize the effectiveness of current space capabilities, design, development, and acquisition based on identified capability gaps that enable and enhance current and future land forces to operate in the Multi-Domain Battlefield. Space enabled capabilities allow U.S. forces the ability to refocus effort and capitalize on successive and/or simultaneous windows of advantage as adversaries contest joint forces in physical and/or abstract (e.g., Cyber) domains.

Brad Kettner, Quantum’s D3I Program Manager, said, “The diversity of tasks and skills needed to support the varied SETI initiatives requires a vendor and technology neutral approach supported by a wide range of skill sets along with a stable laboratory, prototyping, and study environment. The SETI task requires an experienced team capable of providing a multitude of capabilities within a limited base of resources, such as Network and IT support, limited production capabilities, Cybersecurity, Additive Manufacturing, software and application development, purchasing, and Logistics/Inventory support). The incumbent Quantum Team brings this critical, seasoned experience and forward thinking capability onto the D3I contract on Day One without any transition risk for our government customers.”

James Lackey, Senior Vice President and Manager of Quantum’s Defense Systems Group added, “As Team CybEx, both Quantum, PeopleTec, and subcontractor CFD Research Corporation are pleased with this win, and along with our extended Industry partners are committed to provide high quality support and prototyping solutions to SMDC. This is all about supporting the Army’s modernization priority. SETI delivers technology innovations and rapid transitions to the Warfighter in order to enable capability overmatch against a spectrum of threats all while operating in a complex, multi-domain battlespace contested environment. Team CybEx SETI solutions will make a difference to the Soldier today and well into the future.”
