QUANTUM IS AN INDUSTRY LEADER IN DEFENSE SYSTEMS MODELING, SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS (MS&A). WE SUPPORT THE  MISSILE DEFENSE AGENCY (MDA), THE DEFENSE MODELING AND SIMULATION OFFICE (DMSO), THE DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY (DARPA), THE DEFENSE THREAT REDUCTION AGENCY (DTRA) AND THE ARMED SERVICES AS WELL AS DEFENSE INDUSTRY AND OTHER COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS.

Our expertise in operations research, system design, and systems engineering supports the MS&A core competencies of:

  •  Models

    • Conducting requirements analysis, design, and implementation of systems object models and object simulations.

    • Modeling environmental representations.

    • Developing models of physiological and cognitive effects on human behavior decision processes.

    • Using computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools to support function/activity (IDEF0) modeling, data (IDEF1X) modeling, and object-oriented analyses.

  • Simulation

    • Developing simulations to represent complex military operations, systems and networks.

    • Supporting development of simulation requirements, system descriptions, and software specification documents.

    • Developing MS&A plans for supporting advanced system experiments.

    • Assessing verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A) status of models and simulations (M&S).

  • Analysis

    • Performing systems analyses for cost-driven architecture investment strategies using the results of  models and simulations.

    • Quantifying operational requirements for combat capabilities; evaluating the military value of advanced systems, architectures and networks; and performing Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) for alternative systems.

    • Conducting network/communications loading analyses and determining message throughput using the Quantum Network Evaluation Tool (QNET©).

    • Conducting analysis using both QNET© and Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM) to support Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I) system design.

    • Identifying, cataloging, and managing VV&A of M&S used to support test and evaluation for major warfighting system programs.
